The Cornell Lab just launched the 28th season of Project FeederWatch, a winter-long survey of birds that visit feeders at backyards, nature centers, community areas, and other locales in North America. To celebrate, the Cornell Lab is hosting the third annual BirdSpotter Photo Contest, and Vanguard is sponsoring it and offering prizes to the winners! The contest features weekly prizes for the photo that receives the most votes on the contest page. There will be two weekly winners this season: the photo with the highest number of votes and a "Judges' Choice" photo. At the end of the FeederWatch season, we'll hold a vote to determine the grand prize winner.
Each week's contest features a photo theme. The theme will be posted each Wednesday, and contestants can begin uploading photos and/or voting for them immediately. Voting lasts until Sunday night, and the winners will be announced on Monday morning. The Cornell Lab will contact winners to send them each a prize package of Vanguard optics products and a few souvenirs from the Cornell Lab.
The first week of the contest starts November 5th, so grab your camera, watch your feeders, and wow us!
